Public Garden
This was the archbishop's garden from which one has a wonderful view over the Durance valley. In the centre is a statue of the poet and politician Clovis Hughes. One of Embrun's first tourists, he later took up residence in the town where he wrote a novel 'Le Temps des Cerises' - the action taking place in Embrun. He once said "All the tombs here are gardens".
